We are pleased to use a new, user-friendly long-term (Holter) ECG from November 2020. It is the Cortrium C3+ from a Danish start-up (founded 2014). The device consists of a disc about 6 cm in size with small feet to which the electrodes are attached. The dreaded tangle of cables is a thing of the past, and it is much more comfortable to wear than previous devices (as we found in our own test). Our computer-assisted evaluation of the ECG takes about 1 working day.
With this device we can offer a long-term analysis of heart rate variability (HRV), which (scientifically validated) gives a good indication of cardiovascular health and the current stress level (sympathetic tone). Put simply, reduced HRV indicates unfavourable cardiovascular conditions, which may be associated with shorter life expectancy. Sport, physical activity and stress reduction can reverse these changes. HRV measurement is a self-pay service charged according to the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ).
