FPZ back therapy

FPZ stands for Forschungs- und Präventions-Zentrum (research and prevention centre), founded by sports scientists more than 20 years ago.

FPZ back therapy is a treatment concept that is very successful in patients with chronic or recurring back and/or neck pain. It is an individual treatment concept that takes individual characteristics and causes into account in addition to muscle training. At its heart is the reconditioning of the back and neck muscles through an individual training programme. Medical examinations and needs assessments are carried out before and during treatment.
Back pain is significantly reduced in more than 90% of participants, and one in two becomes completely free of symptoms.

Procedure

First, a consultation and a medical examination are needed to make sure that FPZ therapy is suitable for you. Alternatives are also discussed. Our practice is one of two partners of the health insurers and the FPZ in the region and can prescribe this treatment concept if indicated.
This is followed by a computer-assisted analysis of the strength and mobility of the back muscles. Based on this, a build-up programme is planned, usually with 24 sessions of 60 minutes each with individual therapeutic supervision, followed by a continuation programme, usually for 6 months, with sessions every 5 to 10 days.

Costs

More than 50 statutory health insurers and the private health insurers cover the costs of this very successful treatment concept for back pain. If your health insurer does not take part in the programme, we can apply for the costs to be covered or discuss alternative therapies.
