Youth employment health check

Under the German Youth Employment Protection Act (Jugendarbeitsschutzgesetz), this examination is compulsory for all young people who start vocational training or employment before the age of 18. The examination should take place no earlier than 14 months before starting work.

You can choose any doctor for the examination; please bring the examination voucher (Untersuchungsberechtigungsschein) and the questionnaire to the appointment you have booked. These forms are available from the registration office (Meldeamt) of the municipality where you have your main residence; the costs of the examination are paid by the federal state.

The examination itself includes a detailed interview based on the questionnaire you bring, which the young person should already have filled in, a full physical examination and a urine test. The focus is on whether the young person is fit for the chosen occupation in terms of health. If necessary, an additional examination by another doctor or a follow-up examination may be needed, which should then take place within the first year of training.

Please bring your vaccination record to the examination. Please contact us to arrange an appointment!
